GOODBYE SOLO ...... a new film by Ramin Bahrani
Robert Kirk/Treehouse Mobile recorded ADR and field effects for this award winning new film.

The story told in “Goodbye Solo,” Ramin Bahrani’s wonderful third feature, is moving and mysterious, and you may find yourself pondering its implications for a long time after the film’s simple and haunting final images have faded. But it all begins matter-of-factly enough with a conversation between a taxi driver and his passenger, who proposes an unusual business arrangement.

Jeri Rowe of GO TRIAD writes: "The soundtrack, available at, is aided by the sound guidance of Winston-Salem sound guru Robert Kirk. He recorded almost all the tunes on one long day in January inside Triad Stage. He used six old-school microphones, one of which was owned by Barbra Streisand and Glenn Frey. These sensitive tube microphones, some dating back to the 1950s, give the recording a real sense of warmth. It captures every stacked harmony, every fiddle creak, every banjo pluck, every catch in the voices of Bassett, Baugus, Dossett and Sickenberger. It's gorgeous."
